1. Who we are

Kaamos Creations support artists, small businesses, scientists, activists, or journalists in the North to digitise their work or to provide platforms and networking tools in the digital world. As private trader Kaamos Creations offers consulting related to ethical digitalisation, as well as privacy oriented online services for clients.

2. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We only collect personal data that you submit by entering your data into one of the online forms (such as the contect form, or booking form). We use and collect personal data only in order to manage, organise, or fulfill your inquiries and bookings.

By using our services you agree to the use and collection of your data in accordance with this privacy policy. The following data are being collected or processed:

2.1 Personal data

When using our services, you may be required to provide us with personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). We collect this data in order to make arrangements or for organising and managing our services. Personally identifiable information may include:

  • Phone number 
2.2 Usage Data

We may collect information how the website is being used and accessed ("Usage Data"). This data may include information such as your:

  • computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
  • browser type, browser version
  • the pages of our Service that you visit
  • the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages
  • unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

This site uses Matomo for creating visitor statistics. We host our Matomo instance ourselves, on the same server as this website. With Matomo we gather anonymous data of how people are using this site, e.g. details of page views etc. We do not use statistics to gather personal information of our visitors, and the IP addresses of visitors are being anonymised. The statistics we get help us to optimize the page and to discover errors (e.g. broken links). You can opt-in to your visit being included in the statistics gathering. If you have set the "do-not-track" option in your browser, you need to allow it in the browser settings first.

Additionally, the website is hosted on a Debian server that runs Apache webserver to provide you this website. The server logs usage data in raw format, such as the IP address or browser type. The server logs are to analyse errors on serving the website, in order to maintain the website's functionality.

2.3 Cookies

A "cookie" is a small data text file that is placed in your browser. This site uses cookies and some might have already been set. The cookies we use are essential for parts of the site to operate and to increase the site performance, e.g. by allowing us to recognize you each time you visit this site and to load your preferences. Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information and we don't use cookies to collect personal information.

2.4 Forms

When visitors use forms on this site we collect the data you submit through these forms, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

3. Who we share your data with

We do not sell or share any personal data to third parties.

4. How long we retain your data

The personal data you submit through the contact form or our booking system is kept until your request or booking has been served or fulfilled. If you wish for an invoice that includes your personal data, the invoice will be stored as part of our bookkeeping for as long as it is legally required to keep invoicing records. Server logs are being deleted after two weeks. Anonymous site usage data may be stored up to two years.

5. Where your data is stored

Our website as well as the booking platform are hosted on servers that are physically located in Germany, and server backups with encrypted data are physically stored in Germany or Finland.

6. Embedded content from other websites

This website may include embedded content (e.g. maps, videos, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We are not responsible for the content of any external Internet site, even if we have linked to content on external sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information on these sites.
